First of all you have to get Employed to a job. Go to "Job Center" located on your map and select a job.

Workclothes may be a little bit bugged, so if you put them on and nothing happens, you are still able to work

If you disconnect with workclothes, you have to go back to "Locker room" and change before being able to do more work
